The primary purpose of the Lake Superior Regional Trauma Advisory
Council (LSRTAC) is to design, implement, and evaluate a trauma system
within the region that is data-based, confidential, and sensitive to the
needs and limitations of the population served. Wisconsin
recognizes the need to improve trauma care and injury prevention and the
importance of implementing an inclusive, comprehensive trauma system
that integrates all components of trauma care.
Operating under the direction of the Wisconsin State Trauma Advisory
Council (STAC), Lake Superior RTAC serves the following Wisconsin
counties: Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron and Sawyer. Membership
is free and inclusive to all hospitals in the region, trauma
surgeons, emergency physicians, EMS personnel and First Responders,
hospital administration, law enforcement, and public health. Meetings
are held every other month, (February, April, June, August, October and
December) and are open to the public. Those with an
interest in trauma care are welcome to participate.
